About This Training

Developed using key resources from EDF’s Dairy Methane Action Alliance (DMAA), this e-learning course provides dairy-sourcing companies with the knowledge and tools to measure, disclose, and act on methane emissions, aligning with industry best practices and climate goals. Through four focused modules, participants will gain practical insights into methane accounting, disclosure, action planning, and stakeholder engagement. 

Who Should Participate:  

  • Corporate professionals working for food and retail companies sourcing dairy. These professionals may include ESG and sustainability managers and analysts, environmental compliance officers sustainable sourcing and supply chain leaders.  
  • Dairy cooperatives and processors.   
  • Independent sustainability consultants and researchers working on dairy methane

Course Learning Objectives:  

By the end of this course, participants will be able to: 

  • Explain the significance of methane emissions in the dairy sector and the role of corporate action in achieving climate goals. 
  • Develop a dairy methane emissions inventory using guidance from the DMAA. 
  • Identify appropriate frameworks and best practices for transparent methane disclosure to stakeholders. 
  • Design a Dairy Methane Action Plan that integrates mitigation strategies into broader climate transition planning. 
  • Evaluate effective stakeholder engagement approaches for collaborating with farmers, suppliers, and policymakers on methane reduction. 
  • Apply practical tools and resources to support internal and external methane-related decision-making and reporting.
